Trp64Arg polymorphism of β3-adrenergic receptor gene associated with hyperuricemia in a Chinese Male population
Aim:Our aim was to determine the association of β3-adrenergic receptor gene Trp64Arg polymorphism with hyperuricemia in a Chinese male population.Methods:352 hyperuricemic and 420 normouricemic male subjects were genotyped in this age-matched,case-controlled study. The genotypic and allelic frequencies were compared between the tow groups.Body mass index (BMI),systolic blood pressure (SBP),diastolic blood pressure (DBP),serum uric acid, urea nitrogen, creatinine, triglyceride, total cholesterol,low-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (LDL-c),high-density lipoprotein-cholesterol (HDL-c) and fasting plasma glucose (FPG) were determined. Results:The Trp64Arg CC genotypic and C allelic frequencies were higher in hyperuricemic group than in normouricemic group (P<0.01 and P<0.05,respectively).In the hyperuricemia group, there were significantly higher average uric acid concentrations in Trp64Arg TC+CC genotype individuals than TT genotype subjects (P<0.01).In the normouricemic group, there were also significantly higher average uric acid concentrations in Trp64Arg TC+CC genotype individuals than TT genotype subjects (P<0.01).Multivariate logistic regression showed Trp64Arg polymorphism was significantly associated with hyperuricemia occurrence (P=0.000,OR=2.118,95% CI 1.427-3.143).
