Oxidative Damage Induced by Se Deficiency is Related to the Expression of Four Common Endoplasmic Reticulum Resident Selenoproteins in Chicken Muscles
Dietary selenium (Se) deficiency influenced the function of skeletal muscle system. However, little was known about its exact role in chicken skeletal muscles. Our objective was to investigate if the level of oxidative stress and apoptosis induced by Se deficiency was associated with the different expression levels of four common endoplasmic reticulum resident selenoproteins in skeletal muscles of chicken; and the correlation of these selenoproteins with SEPSECS or SEPHS1 in vivo.
