A comparative study of the validity of General Movements Qualitative Assessment (GMsA) and Amiel-Tison examination in predicting Cerebral Palsy (CP) of 264 high risk infants
Backround General Movements Qualitative Assessment (GMsA) is an important functional dysfunction indicator of brain injury in early infants period.Objective To explore an effective clinical method for prediction of Cerebral Palsy (CP) by the validity of General Movements Qualitative Assessment (GMsA) and Amiel-Tison neurological examination in predicting CP of high risk infants.Methods 264 high risk infants were enrolled and assessed with GMsA from the first week to 12-15 weeks corrected age (CA) and Amiel-Tison neurological examination in 12 months from the NICU of Department of Neonatology,the Third Affiliated Hospital of Anhui Medical University,Hefei,China.Then an analysis was made to compare the vadility of the two methods in predicting CP of high risk infants.CP was diagnosed by Pediatrician experts at the time of 12 months after they were born.
