CD20+ T-cell lymphoma clinicopathologic analysis of 2 cases and a review of the literature
Rare cases of CD20+ T-cell lymphoma have been reported, but the clinicopathologic spectrum of this disorder is not known. We report on two cases of CD20+ T cell lymphoma, one presented with predominantly nodal disease and diagnosed with angioimmunoblastic T-cell lymphoma, the other presented with extranodal disease involving nasal cavity and diagnosed with peripheral T cell lymphoma,unspecified.CD20 was uniformly and dimly expressed in the 2 cases, and the results of flow cytometric analysis of bown marrow and lymph node were consistent with the histological findings.Beyond that, interestingly,we have found a normal CD20dim/+ T-cell subset in peripheral blood or bown marrow of some other people and have thought that the results confirmed hypothesis on malignant transformation of a subpopular of T cells when CD20 expression is present in T-cell lymphoma.Meanwhile through a search of the English language literature,we reviewed reported cases of CD20-positive T cell malignancies including the present cases.Further cases must be evaluated to understand the clinical significance of the CD20 expression on the surface of T cell malignancies, because recognition of this is important for ensuring a correct diagnosis so that patients can be offered the most appropriate therapy.
