A simple,highly selective colorimetric method for the determination of iron (Ⅲ)
Iron is one of the most important trace elements in plants and animals that plays a significant role in many chemical and biological processes ”1-5” and it is of great important to detect trace amounts of Fe3+.In the present work,mercaptosuccinic acid was used to form a stable purple complex with Fe3+. The complex colour changes with different concentration of iron which is sensitive enough for the determination by naked eyes.
