Potential of Marine sponge Hymeniacidon perleve to Induce Release of Photosynthate from Microalgae

  The paper was aimed at research on release of photosynthete from microalgae induced by marine sponge.Using marine sponge Hymeniacidon perleve and living-free microalgae Isochrysis glabana as model organisms,the release quantity of photosynthate from microalgae by induced sponge tissue homogenate in four hours was 1078±102~1879±126 ng-TOC/106-algae cells,and was about seven to nine times greater than that induced by seawater.As induction time was prolonged,the release of photosynthate increased significantly.However,there were no significant differences in release quantity of photosynthate in four hours and in six hours (P<0.05).This research provides an economic and technical possibility for low-cost industrialization of microalgae bioenergy.
