离子声波电双层的粒子模拟研究
Double layers has long been an important subject in both laboratory and space plasmas. Double layers are found in a wide variety of plasmas, from discharge tubes to space plasmas, and are especially common in current-carrying plasmas. Ions and electrons which enter the double layer are accelerated, decelerated or reflected by the electric field. The necessary condition for the formation of double layers obtained from the previous work is that the electron drift velocity exceeds the electron thermal velocity, or double layers are a result of Buneman instability. Ions and electrons which enter the double layer are accelerated, decelerated or reflected by the electric field. In this paper, we will present the results of new kinetic simulations designed to study the development and evolution of a double layer and associated turbulence in an initially field-free current-carrying plasma.
