Luminescence properties of Eu doped SmBa3B9O18
Eu3+ doped SmBa3B9O18 luminescence materials were synthesized by high temperature solid state reaction.The structure and photoluminescence properties of Sm(1-x)EuxBa3B9O18 (x =20%,x =40%,x =60%) were investigated by X-ray diffraction,scanning electron microscope,energy dispersive x-ray spectroscopy,excitation and emission spectra.The results show that the doping of Eu3+ ions does not change the structure of SmBa3B9O18.With the increasing of Eu3+ions concentration,the luminescence intensity is also raising and no concentration quenching process is observed.The luminescence is mainly from the transitions of Eu3+ ions.The work provides new ideas on the investigation of new scintillation materials.
