Ownership, R&D and Innovation Performance: Evidence from Transitional China
There is a growing body of research in the management literature that links ownership pattern with finn innovation (Graves 1988; Baysinger et al.1991; Kochhar and David 1996; Zahra 1996; Molas-Gallart and Tang 2006; Choia et al.2011).One stream links innovation with corporate governance.For instance,Barnhart and Rosenstein (1998) and Baysinger et al.(1991) suggested that innovation intensity is positively associated with insider-dominated boards.Baysinger and Hoskisson (1990) suggested that the superiority and quality of inside directors” information combined with their specific risk preferences may explain these differential effects of board structure on various types of business strategies.
