A Novel Digital On-Channel Repeater Design for Single Frequency Network in ATSC System
We propose a novel DOCR that has high antenna isolation,good output signal quality,good selectivity,relatively low time delay,and maintaining synchronization.The structure of EDOCR is basically same as demod/remod DOCR, except that there are no FEC decoder and encoder. By simulation results,even though there are adjacent channels and input signal is distorted by multi-path and AWGN, the EDOCR makes the exact replica of main transmitter”s 8-VSB signal with little time delay. Also, the EDOCR using a proposed adaptive equalizer guarantees high antennas isolation without noise accumulation.Using the EDOCR,we can implement SFN with already deployed transmitters.Also,the EDOCR can be used for complete SFN with newly designed a main transmitter and distributed transmitters.
