The Protein but not the RNA of the Recombinant TMV CP Induces Necrotic Local Lesions in Susceptible Tobacco Plants
Display of foreign peptides on the surface of tobacco mosaic virus(TMV) has been proved to be an effective way to produce useful valuable peptides in tobacco plant. In our lab,the coding sequence of foreign peptides fused to the C-terminus of coat protein(CP) at the site of Trp152 and lacked the terminal Trp153-Trp158 peptides by an inserted TAG codon. Some recombinant TMVs(rTMVs) with CP fused to foreign peptides caused necrotic local lesions on the inoculated leaves of susceptible tobacco N.tabacum cv.Samsun nn.
