The effect of biomasses on C/N and humification in composting of pig feces
Organic composts were manufacutured from pig feces with three kinds of biomasses,i.e.water hyacinth, sawdust and peat,as conditioners. The change of temperature,pH,total carbon (C),total nitrogen ( N),C/N,humic substance (HS),humic acid ( HA),and HA/HS during composting were measured. The results showed that the temperature of pig feces and water hyacinth treatment and pig feces and peat treatment were relatively high, the time when the temperature maintained above 40℃,pH of pig feces and peat treatment decreased slightly,of the other two treatments all increased in which pig feces and water hyacinth treatment increased 1.5 unit.As the accumulated temperature of compost increased, the content of N increased,C,C/N decreased. The content of HS and HA all increased,in general.HA/HS increased apparently in this process. There were no apparent differences in humification among different composts. These changes were important display of maturity and quality enhancement in composting.
