Wave reflection and transmission from a single slotted barrier
A direct analytical method is developed to study the interaction of plane water wave with a single slotted barrier.The slotted barrier is assumed thin and rigid plate.Explicit analytical (algebraic) expressions are obtained for reflection wave and transmission wave heights etc.In the formulas all symbols have perfectly apparent physical significance,every parameter can be calculated by the structural and hydrologic parameters.The theoretical predictions of the reflection,transmission and total energy loss coefficients for a single slotted barrier using the present model are compared with laboratory experiments of previous authors,and it is found that the results from this theory are in good agreement with experimental data.
