An Inquiry into the Boom of English Clubs——From the Perspective of Corporate Governance of Professional Football Clubs
That English clubs have been looming large both on and off field recently is undeniable.This paper aims at inquiring into the underlying reasons behind the boom of English clubs from the perspective of Corporate Governance.Professional football clubs,in spite of their peculiarities in certain fields compared with modem companies,do much the way companies do.Based on this,we are entitled to adopt the theory of Corporate Governance to the reasoning of prosperity of football clubs.To a certain extent does this article dig deep in the current situation of Corporate Governance of English professional football clubs in terms of external control mechanism① and internal control mechanism②,and further analyze the advantages of English system in Corporate Governance,which engine the flourish of English clubs as a mighty power,dazzlingly performing on the stage of Europe,and even the word around.
