Prediction of Membrane Protein Types by a Fuzzy Support Vector Machine Classifier
Membrane proteins have different types.The function of a membrane protein is closely correlated with the type it belongs to.It is important to decide which type it belongs to because it is closely relevant to its biological function and to its interaction process with other molecules in a biological system.In this study,on the basis of the concept of pseudo amino acid(PseAA)composition originally introduced by Chou,a fuzzy support vector machine Classifier is presented.The success rates indicate that the classifier may become a very useful high throughput tool in identifying membrane proteins and their types.
