Vulgarized Tradition or Civilized Fashion
Tea”s involvement in modem affairs like bridles belies its nature and reaps a great deal of criticism of tea”s vulgarization.To examine the role of tea in contemporary social communication,this paper probes into the application of tea in gifts presenting.A survey has been conducted.The result runs counter to people”s assumption of the vulgarization of tea in modem times,however.It turns out that tea remains a noble and sacred nature,which even civilizes contemporary social communication.In the introductory Part Ⅰ,a comparison is made between activities of tea in ancient and modem times,posing a question whether the nature of tea has been vulgarized.On the basis of the survey,Part Ⅱ examines whether the noble and holy image of tea has undergone a change in terms of gifts presenting.Part Ⅲ,by further analyzing the information collected from the interviewees,explores the impact of tea on contemporary social communication.A conclusion then is drawn in Part Ⅳ.
