Synthesis and photocatalytic properties of clay-based plasma composite
In this paper,Ag-AgX (X=Cl,Br) plasmonic photocatalyst supported on clays were studied,The Ag-AgX/clay composite were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),high-resolntion transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM),Raman spectra,UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (UV-vis DRS) and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS).The composite exhibited an efficient adsorption capability and photocatalytic activity under visible light radiation (λ>400 nm).The excellent photocatalytic activity of the composite can be attibuted to the synergetic effect ofthe surface plasmon resonance of metallic Ag particles and the large specific surface area of the clay, which explores a new way to prepare a visible light responsive photocatalyst with high adsorption capability.
