Visible-light-responsive Bi2O2CO3/Bi3NbO7 composite with efficient antibacterial activity
Antibacterial activity of photocatalytic materials is primarily induced by UV light irradiation.The Bi2O2CO3/Bi3NbO7 (BiCO/BiNbO) composite,firstly synthesized by a simple hydrothermal method,was used as an effective visible-light-responsive photocatalyst for inactivation of Escherichia coli (E.coli).The Bi2O2CO3/Bi3NbO7 composite was characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD),scanning electron microscopy (SEM),high-resolution transmission electron microscopy (HRTEM),UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectrum (UV-vis DRS),nitrogen adsorption/desorption measurements and Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy.
