Treatment of Challenging Facial Port-Wine Stain with Laser, Photodynamic Therapy and Surgery:An Update

Introduction:Vascular malformations can be found anywhere,but most common are the head and neck region.The port-wine stain (PWS) is a congenital cutaneous venulocapillary malformation of unknown pathogenesis.It is still a challenge to plastic surgeons and dermatologists.Materials and methods:Laser treatment and photochemotherapy (photodynamic therapy)has achieved observable lightening of PWS by reducing the number,size of these vessels,and has been considered as promising choice.
