Musculoskeletal sonography:Evaluation of the carpal tunnel and median nerve
Carpal tunnel syndrome ( CTS) is a cumulative trauma disorder and has been attributed to a set of occupational illnesses that have grown wordwide,over the last 30years.Repetitive stress injuries such as CTS,now compose 70% of occupational injuries.Theincidence If CTS has been reported tl effect 11,910 employees per year in the USA.High resolution sonography represents a non-invasive,non-ionizing diagnostic test that can be used to detect CTS. Further development If thescanning protocol and the use of Doppler can increase the sensitivity of detecting CTS acutely.
