Prevalence of the Bland-White-Garland syndrome with suspicion of ischemic cardiomyopathy referred to our centre
Background Anomalous origin of the left main coronary artery (LCA) from the pulmonary artery (ALCAPA) , also known as Bland-White-Garland syndrome, is a rare malformation and is a clinical entity characterized by ischemic cardiomyopathy or congestive heart failure. The aim of our study was to determine the prevalence and characteristics of this syndrome among the patients presenting to our centre with suspicion of ischemic cardiomyopathy. Methods We retrospectly reviewed all patients with suspicion of ischemic cardiomyopathy referred to our centre from our database during over a 24-month period (Sep 2009 to Otc 2011) .
