Pharmacological study of Traditional Chinese Herbal Remedy (TC HR)with the alternatives to whole animal test
Recently，much interest has focused on the new laboratory method in pharmacological study of traditional chinese herbal remedy(TCHR)，which is named as“Serum Pharmacology”in China。All things consider，it is an in vivo and in vitro combined laboratory method(ex vivo method)for pharmacological research．As a pre-treatment，the remedy is given to the animal(or subject)，after an appropriate po~od of time，the blood samples are collected and the serum separated from the blood sample will be used as the test substance (in vivo)．This substance contains all components existing in the remedy and possible metabolites for observ-ing the pharmacological effect．The effect is demonstrated by the alternatives to whole animal test(in vitro)．
