Fault Tree Analysis Based on Semi-Qualitative Theory
For the limitation in the theory of tradition fault tree and the ambiguity existing in complex systems, the probability grey number, which can express the event’s subjective nondeterminacy and objective nondeterminacy, is introduced to the degree and probability that events go wrong, dynamic envelope is applied to score the relation among components, and a new logic gate: Grey-gate, is advanced for expressing the effect of system reliability when the components go wrong. So a new theory of fault diagnosis is built, and it is applied to analyze the effect of soft and hardware faults in system.
