Optimization of Energy Consumption for Wireless Sensor Networks via Simulated Annealing Method
Energy consumption is a key aspect in the performance of wireless sensor networks. 802.15.4/ZigBee is one of the most promising technologies for wireless sensor network. In this paper, a network energy consumption model is established in detail based on the real Zigbee sensor network systems. Then a simulated annealing method is proposed to optimize the topology of the network for better energy consumption performance by equipping part of the sensor nodes with mobility. Several groups of experimental results are given to demonstrate the success of the proposed methods.
