The Online monitoring and diagnosing system for the induction motor failure
In this paper, the induction motor’s phase failure has been studied. When the motor phase failure occurs, the motor can still rotate by the previous direction and the load current will be increased to be over the rated value, no matter whether the stator windings are Delta connection or Wye connection, the breakage point lies in phase windings or wire-source. By collecting the wire current and voltage signal, the proposed monitoring system for the induction motor phase failure can measure the following signal: the motor’s single-phase zero-current, over-current, and the unbalanced-three-phase current, and can also protect the circuit. The simulation result shows this system I s effective.
