Course Project: An Exploration of Mechanism Innovation Design Method for Students
This article is a brief discussion on mechanism innovation methodology and a practice stage for engineering students, course project. We mainly summarize and organize a path of innovation design that is accessible to students, and an example of course project, design of opening device for automobile trunk lid, is presented to clarify the design path for readers. Also, readers can see what problems students will confront in course project. Through course project, we students obtain better understanding of theory of machines and mechanisms, comprehensive application of what we learn, sharp observations of daily mechanisms and strong confidence of innovation design. Course project, thus, is a good choice to improve the situation of engineering education in China.
