SCR Catalysts for Meeting Heavy Duty Diesel Emission Regulations
In China, heavy duty diesel (HDD) reached about 1500,000 in 2010. Vast numbers of HDD will cause severe environmental problems (PM, NOx, THC and CO ). It is well-known that HDD show trade-offs between exhaust deNOx control and fuel consumption. For the sake of tightening of criteria pollutant standards and CO2 regulations, many effects have recently been made on optimized selective catalytic reduction (SCR) systems to deNOx. As engines become more efficient and regulators get more concerned about low-load NOx emissions, better lower temperature SCR catalyst performance will be required ”1”f. But for Chinese actual conditions, it is proposed that tailor-made vanadia SCR catalysts can be applied for China Ⅳ/Ⅴemission regulations, whereas they are not used in US and Japan. And the same time, zeolite SCR are being explored for higher deNOx efficiencies to meet future HDD emission.
