Silver Nanoparticles Enhanced Chemiluminescence of the Luminol–KIO4 System for the Determination of Indapamide by Flow-Injection Analysis

The experiments indicated that silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) could greatly enhance the chemiluminesence intensity of the luminol- KIO4 system in sodium hydroxide media, but indapamide could inhibit the chemiluminesence signals significantly. Based on this inhibitive phenomenon, a flow injection CL method for the determination of indapamide has been established. Under the optimized conditions, the linear range for the determination of indapamide was 1.0×10-9 to 2.0×10-8g/mL (0.9941) and 2.0×10-8 to 1.0×10-7g/mL (0.9978) with a detection limit of 6.0×10-10 g/mL. The relative standard deviations for 11 repeated measurements of 5.0×10-9g/mL and 5.0×10-8g/mL indapamide were 2.1% and 1.8 %, respectively. The method has been successfully applied to the determination of indapamide in commercial tablets with recoveries in the range from 97.0% to 102.0%.
