Investigation of mechanochemical tartrate construction by terahertz time-domain spectroscopy
Mechanochemical reactions have received considerable attention in the fields of materials science and crystal engineering due to the avoiding use of large amounts of solvent. As a novel spectroscopic technique, terahertz time-domain spectroscopy (THz-TDS) shows great potential in process analytical chemistry. In this work, THz-TDS was utilized to monitor the solid-state reaction between L(+)-Tartaric acid and sodium hydrogen carbonate agitated by mechanical grinding.
