450C isothermal section of the Zn-Ni-Si system at the Zn-rich corner
The 450℃ isothermal section of the Zn-Ni-Si ternary phase diagram was determined experimentally using scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray powder diffraction (XRD). Five three-phase regions exist in the 450℃ isothermal section. Experimental results indicated that Si is almost insoluble in the L-Zn phase, δ phase and γ phase. The solubility of Ni in L-Zn Phase is limited. A new ternary compound Τ phase has found in the present study.
