Postmodernism and Its Insinuations on Media and Society

Over the past few decades, the world has entered a new layer of human civilization. Famously, Tehranian ( 2006) quotes different authors that described different name for postmodernism are ”Marshall McLuhan christened it ”the global village”. Others have labeled it differently, including ”post-industrial ” ( Bell), ” information society and economy ” ( Porat et al. ), ” postmodern” ( Foucault, Harvey et al. ), ” digital capitalism” ( Schiller), ”network society” (Castells), and ”fourth discontinuity” (Mazlish)” (p. 142).
