How the Media in China and Japan Can Improve Their Mutual Understanding:a Discussion Based on a Cross-cultural Content Analysis Study
The perception of foreign countries is greatly defined by the available information about them. International news is one of the important constituent elements for such an information environment (Hagendoorn, 1992). In the field of mass media, investing reporting characteristics is regarded as an important issue. The method of content analysis, which indicates the reporting characteristics based on quantitative data, is most commonly used to clarify reporting characteristics (Maletzke, 1965).
