The low-temperature synthesis of CuO Nanowires by Direct Thermal Oxidation route
CuO nanowires have been successfully synthesized on ITO (indium tin oxide) coated glass by direct thermal oxidation of Cu films. The morphology and structure of the samples were examined by scanning electron microscope (SEM) and X-ray diflraction(XRD). The field emission properties of CuO nanowires were also investigated. The turn-on field is about 6.8 V/um. Considering the simple preparation method and scalability for large area preparation, the CuO nanowires could be a promising field emission cathode materials for field emission display.
