The reaction phase state:a factor can”t be neglected in the evaluation of aromatics hydrogenation catalysts
The effect of reaction phase state (gas-liquid-solid or gas-solid reaction) on aromatics hydrogenation was investigated by tetralin hydrogenation with tetralin/n-tetradecane, tetralin/n-decane and tetralin/?-octane under temperature range from 220 to 290 ℃ and different hydrogen flow rate. The tetralin hydrogenation was favored of gas-liquid-solid reaction manner for both enhancing tetralin conversion and reducing catalyst deactivation. No matter the transition of gas-liquid-solid to gas-solid reaction manner was obtained by altering the solvent, varying the temperature or changing the hydrogen flow rate, the tetralin conversation decreased dramatically around the phase transition point. The model compounds with no phase transition under the test condition were recommended for the evaluation of aromatics hydrogenation catalysts.
