Hydroxyethyl starch 130/0.4 versus modified fluid gelatin for volume expansion and degradation with colloid and hemoglobin dilution method
Background: A number of studies have compared the different available colloids regarding pharmacokinetics, effective intravascular volume expansion and maintenance by means of variable methods. A recent prospective study compared the effective intravascular volume expansion and maintenance ,with two types of starches using the cr radio-labeled red blood cell dilution technique. ”4” Another study used a high-pressure liquid chromatography controlled enzymatic test for detecting blood colloid concentration and then several pharmacokinetic parameters were calculated by pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic data analysis program TOPFIT(2.0 ) ”3”, ”7” . However those methods are still lack of practicability for clinical utility due to either complicated manipulation, high cost or low real time clinical directive characteristic for actual expended volume and degradation rate.
