Ionic Liquids as Additives in High Performance Liquid Chromatography, Analysis of Some Aroumatic Amines and its Interaction Mechanism
Room temperature ionic liquids ( RTILs ) are highlypolar, environmentally benign, nonvolatile, nonflammable solvents and stabie in water and air that can be widly used as medium solvents for homogeneous catalysis, synthesis, electrochemistry and different analysis fields such as liquid extraction, CE and GC. But their use in liquid chromatography is limited by the separation mechanism. We reported the use of ionic liquids as additives in eluent to separate ephedrines and catecholamines in high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). In order to exploring the potential application of ionic liquid as an environmentally friendly solvent in analysis fields especially in HPLC separation, several ionic liquids are used as additives to discuss the interaction mechanism among ionic liquid, ansalytes and stationary phase.
