Cardioprotective Effects of Erythropoietin on Reperfused Ischemic Heart of Rat

摘要：

Objective: To study the effect of erythropoietin (EPO) on cardiac myocyte and apop-tosis after ischemia -reperfusion injury (IRI) in rats. Methods: Thirty — five Wistar rats were divided randomly into 4 groups, I.e. Ischemia- reperfusion group (IR, 10 rats), Sham - operation group (SHAM, 5 rats), EPO- treated group 1 (EPO1, 10 rats), and EPO- treated group 2 (EPO2, 10 rats). EPO1 group were subjected to 30 min of ischemia followed by 24 h of reperfusion, with intravenous injection of EPO 500 U/kg 24 hours before ischemia; and EPO2 group were.
