Firm-level Factors and Co-Impact of Diversification and Internationalization Strategies on Chinese Companies

With the development of Chinese economy, an increasing number of Chinese companies have emphasized their expansion in global market. The internationalization of Chinese companies have been enhanced by their increasing involvement in global competition. Accompanied by the open-door policy and the deregulation of production and pricing activities, a number of Chinese companies have enlarged their business domain by a higher level of diversification strategy. As a result, due to a certain level of resources, there is a need to trade-off the co-impact of diversification and internationalization strategy of Chinese companies. This research aims to find the relationship of firm-level factors such as firm size, firm age, ownership concentration and the co-impact of diversification and internationalization strategy. The function of firm-level factors is found to be determinant to the co-impact of diversification and internationalization in the global market development. The result will be helpful to policy makers and global managers in the future reform of Chinese companies.
