Build-up of a parametric design method for multilayer woven fabrics

In the past many studies have been carried out to analyze how specific weaving parameters influence the properties of 3D woven fabrics. For example, at ITA many different weaves are woven, impregnated and tested for mechanical properties. All studies have now been transformed into parametric formulas. They have been integrated into a FEA environment for usage on big structural parts. With the equations gained out of these and additional own studies, fabrics for future composite applications have been designed. In this paper, the corresponding designs and their applications are presented.
