Detecting itch and depression in laboratory animals:a brief survey of automatic methods and devices
However, it is not easy to detect and quantify the laboratory animals behaviors. Because the laboratory animal behaviors contain very quick movements with frequency as high as 6~15 Hz or above. Behavioral videos recorded at 30 fps are inadequate for manual or automatic discrimination. In this survey, we summarized the automatic behaviors detection methods and devices for scratching and behaviors in FST. Especially, we introduced the automatic systems based on high-speed vision.
