Polychlorinated dioxin is one group of chemical congeners, comprising poly-chlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxin (PCDD) and poly-chlorinated dibenzoduran (PCDF) that have 75 and 135 possible congeners, respectively. They are not produced commercially but are usually formed as by-product of various industrial and combustion processes, such as waste incinerator, fuel, coal, wood combustion, pulp industry, cement and glass industry.
