This paper will discuss the influence of Sino-American relations in the modern period on Chinese culture and global development and specifically explore the role of four individuals and how they influenced changes in existing perceptions between China and America, leading to pivotal international events: Pearl S. Buck, Helen and Edgar Snow and Huang Hua.
