A class of novel α-heterocyclic carboxaldehyde thiosemicarbazones inhibitors against topoisomerase Ⅱα catalytic activity and iron deprivation as iron chelators
Thiosemicarbazones are a class of iron chelators that have shown potent anti-cancer activities, some of which are under preclinical or clinical studies.We synthesized a class of novel thiosemicarbazone derivatives which bearing condensed heterocyclic carboxaldehyde moieties.Several compounds exhibited potent cytotoxic activity.Of all the compounds tested, TSC24 showed the best anti-tumor efficacy with IC50 in nanomolar range.
