X-Ray Methods for Trace Element Analysis in Glazed Ceramics from XVI to XV III Centuries
Several glazed ceramic fragments(XVI-XVIII centuries)from two productioncenters in Portugal(Coimbra and Lisbon)were object of study. The ones fromCoimbra with glaze thickness from 150—200μm while the ones from Lisbon is from3 50-400μm.The system glaze/decoration is not easy to investigate, due to highheterogeneity of the mixing products and the diffusion ability of the pigment into thebase glaze is variable depending on the composition both from the pigment and glazein terms offusibility.
