Causality, transmigration and the syncretism of noumenon and function——Xiong Shi-li”s thinking questions and his new mere-Consciousness-theory
The change of causality had crucial function in the construction of Xiong Shi-li”snew mere-Consciousness-theory. The change of causality was from thinking questions. XiongShili had been puzzled by the problems of universe and ultimate existence of life since he wasjuvenile. He was searching the answers from the learning different schools. He found that thecausality and the transmigration of Buddhism and the syncretism of noumenon and function ofConfucianism were the two basic trains of thoughts. To the causality and transmigration ofBuddhism, there was a tortuous course from positive to negative and from negative to positive. Rwas because the affirmation of inherent nature of the source of morality and independence andfreedom seeking, that he gradually questioned and criticized the theory of causality andtransmigration. Ontological mode switching, from the causality and transmigration back tosyncretism of noumenon and function, directly led to the construction of Xiong Shili”s newmere-Consciousness-theory, and restricted his aim of moral idealism.
