Genitive Modifiers and their Derivation
In the classifier languages, like Korean, Japanese, and Chinese, NPs/DPs containing a classifier phrase (CLP) are at issue about their structural derivation and configuration. In Korean, semantic intactness of scrambling can be questioned by a proposal of semantic differences between the two types of CLPs, pre-nominal and post-nominal CLPs (K-S Kim 2009). Huang’s (1982) analysis of Dual NPs, CLP as a modifier NP and an independent head N of the NP, confirms +N Case Filter of Emonds (2000).
