Boolean conjunction and its correlates in Mandarin Chinese
The present study addresses the issues of conjunction in Mandarin Chinese. Specifically, we study the Boolean Conjunction and its licensing conditions. In addition, we will explore the similarities and differences between ConjP, plural subjects and universal DP and the theoretical significances of such an analysis. We will show that the differences between ConjP on the one hand, and plural subject and universal DP on the other hand, provide empirical support for the binary branching analysis of the ConjP (Zhang, 2010).
