In vivo characteristics studies on the drug nanonanosuspensions
Over the last decades, the formulation of drugs as nanocrystals has successfully evolved into a mature drug delivery strategy for the formulation of the poorly soluble drugs because of their simplicity in preparation and general applicability. During the last decade of the 20 century lots of works have been done to study the technologies leading to the nanocrystals and their in vitro physical and chemical properties, such as their stabilities, enhanced saturation solubility and dissolution rate. In the last ten years, many researchers focused on the in vivo characteristics of the nanocrystals in animals. In this article, in vivo characteristics of the nanocrystals (obtained by different techniques) exhibited in animals after administered through different route were reviewed, and the advantages of the nanocrystals in the aspect of the safety, pharmacodynamics and pharmacokinetics shown in different administration were discussed.
