Application of design of experiment the determination of a chain ropeway systems operation point
This paper describes work that has been done on an innovative use of a steel chain as a cable in chain ropeway system developed for use in the mountain orchards of china. This works focuses on the application for design of experiments to determine the operation parameters of the chain with respect to tension in the chain, power and also how the new tensioning system that has been added to the system can work. Two experiments were done with the first one determining the frequency range of operation and the factors that are important in operation of the ropeway system. The second part was examining how speed, the load and the tensioning load affect the power of the system, the tension in the system and the frequency characteristics. From this study carried out it has been shown that design of experiments can be a valuable tool in solving problems related to the determining the operational point of a the chain rope way system and getting an in depth behavior of its dynamics.
