Modeling and Simulation of Repeater Network Arrangement
To fully address the problem of optimizing the arrangement of repeaters based on the given frequencypairs and PL tones, the research is divided into two parts which are the two major factors affecting the distributionof the repeaters. One is the area of the required region;the other is the distribution of the user. First, a full-coverageoriented model is applied with the hexagon-based topology. In a typical 40 miles radius flat area, 31 repeaters withradius coverage of 12 miles are needed for 1,000 simultaneous users. Second, the population oriented model is builton a more flexible way. Although it needs 41 repeaters as the same conditions as the first model, it is moreavailable in a mountainous area. In the conclusion, a flexible and prospective strategy is proposed to meet thepractical requirement.
